Pro tip: 100 KB is an easy target. JPEG at 80–90% quality on 150×200 px produces files between 20–70 KB — comfortably under the limit with great clarity. Only lower quality if your photo is unusually detailed.

Resize Image to 100 KB — FAQs
MHT-CET (Maharashtra CET Cell), JEE Main (NTA), CUET, most college and university admission portals across India including Delhi University and Mumbai University, ZP Bharti, and many state board scholarship portals require a photo of 100 KB or less.
Resize the photo to the required pixel dimensions first (e.g. 150×200 px for most college forms), then use JPEG compression at 82–88% quality. At these dimensions, this almost always produces a file between 25–75 KB — well under 100 KB with excellent sharpness. The KB meter will confirm the output size instantly.
NTA requires the JEE Main photograph to be between 10 KB and 100 KB, in JPEG format, with dimensions of approximately 3.5 × 4.5 cm (around 413 × 531 px at 300 DPI, but portals accept smaller). Use the JEE Main preset above which targets 132×170 px at 85% quality — this produces a clean file in the 30–70 KB range.
Maharashtra CET Cell requires a photograph of 150 × 200 pixels, JPEG format, maximum 100 KB with a white background. The MHT-CET preset above is pre-configured with these exact values. You can also visit the dedicated MHT-CET Photo Resizer page for full specifications and FAQ.
Most modern browsers can open HEIC files directly from the file picker. If your photo doesn't upload, convert it to JPEG first using our HEIC to JPG converter, then resize it here.
No. Your original photo is never modified. This tool creates a new compressed copy that you download. Your original file stays exactly as it was on your device. You can re-upload and resize the same photo multiple times with different settings.
